Billie W. (Willard) Mays, 83, of Franklin, IN passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021. She was born January 3, 1938 in Anniston, Missouri to Warner Clinton Willard and Vera Odette (McLlroy) Willard. She married Robert Eugene Mays on June 30, 1956 in Anniston, Missouri, he preceded her in death on July 1, 2006.

<p>
Billie grew up in a tiny town of Anniston, Missouri with lots of cousins and moved to the big city of Indianapolis, IN where she met Bob Mays whom she was married to for fifty years.
</p>
<p>
Billie was a longtime resident of Sweetwater Lake are before moving to Franklin, IN after her husband passed away. Billie lived in the Whispering Ponds Community in Franklin and had many friends there. She attended Fairhaven Christian Church in Franklin.
</p>
<p>
She retired from AT&amp;T, but still wanted to interact with people, so she worked part-time as a receptionist for Otterbein Franklin Seniorlife Community for ten years.
</p>
<p>
Billie enjoyed her neighbors and working in her flowers, but most of all she enjoyed her family.
</p>
<p>
Survivors include her two daughters Robin Greenwood (Rick) of Martinsville, IN and Gwen Scott (Dwight) of Johnson City, TN, four grandchildren Travis McCann (Sara) of Whiteland, IN, Ashlee Boruff (Jason) of Indianapolis, IN, Matthew Babel (Whitney) of Jonesboro, TN and A.J. Babel (Krista) of Johnson City, TN, 18 great- grandchildren and one brother Fred Willard (Anna) of Boca Rotan, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Ted Willard.
</p>
<p>
Pastor Brian Clark will conduct a service on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at 2PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed for family and friends to connect at <a href="http://www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/billie-willard">www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/billie-willard</a>. Please use Firefox Internet or Google Chrome for optimal viewing. Friends may call from 1PM until service time at the mortuary. Due to COVID-19 Mandates, facial coverings or mask and social distancing is required for those attending. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN.
