FRANKLIN

<p>
Marian Louise (Hilghman) Colvin, 91, of Franklin left this life February 9, 2021. She was born March 6, 1929, in Salisbury, MD, where she lived most of her life until moving to Otterbein Senior Living Community in 2006 to be near her only child, Bonnie Pribush, and her family.
</p>
<p>
Thanks to her engaging personality and a lifelong effort to make everyone she met share a smile with her, Marian made many friends in her adopted state.
</p>
<p>
While living in Franklin, Marian volunteered for the Johnson County Humane Society and the Interchurch Food Pantry. She also made dozens of lap blankets for the Johnson County Senior Services. Additionally, she enjoyed attending plays at Indiana Repertory Theatre and participating in a local book club.

<p>
Following the Hoosier tradition of loving basketball, Marian became an avid Butler University basketball fan, displaying Butler mementos in her home and attending games with her family, including the 2010 Final Four. She also faithfully followed the Baltimore Colts and then the Indianapolis Colts.
</p>
<p>
Marian also loved to travel and explore new cultures. From road trips throughout the United States in the 1950s and 1960s to international trips in Europe to "chasing the wild goose" trips in Indiana, she was always ready to go.
</p>
<p>
Marian graduated in 1945 from Morrison High School in Newport News, Va., where her family lived while her father worked in a shipyard during WWII. Her parents were the late Eldridge and Helen Hilghman; she was an only child. In 1947, Marian married James Colvin, the love of her life. She worked at Cavanaugh Ford in Salisbury, first as a secretary and then as the office manager; she retired after 20 years of employment. She was a member of Union Methodist Church in Salisbury.
