He had been an electrician for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 481 of over fifty years. He was known as Grandad by his family and his family always came first, but he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in his barn. He was a faithful servant of Jesus who loved to read his Bible and memorized scripture. He was a member of the Community Church of Greenwood. He donated frequently to charities such as the Wheeler Mission, the Salvation Army, Doctors Without Borders, and many others. When not doing all of that, he could be found at his favorite place in the world, his log cabin house and property affectionately known as "The Farm." He also loved classic television, Westerns, and listening to music from his childhood. His dry and silly sense of humor made everyone around him groan and smile. He never met a stranger and seemed to have a friend anywhere he went. You can see his handiwork all over the city of Indianapolis from the Salesforce tower, to the lights of the circle, all of which he helped to build. His favorite Bible verse was Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
