Richard "Dick" Jacobs, 87, of Franklin, IN passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin, IN. He was born December 26, 1933 in Indianapolis, IN. He was a 1952 graduate of Whiteland High School. He was a United States Navy Veterans having served in the Korean War. He married Phyllis J. (Donahue) Jacobs on August 29, 1958 at the Whiteland United Methodist Church, she survives.

<p>
He had been a professional carpenter with the Indiana Carpenters Union. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Trafalgar, IN, American Legion Post 205 in Franklin, IN and the Indiana University Varsity Club. He was an avid I.U. and Indianapolis Colts fan. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and being involved and a avid supporter of Franklin Community High School and Indiana Creek High School girls basketball.

Survivors include his daughter Linda Smith (Scott) of Franklin, IN, his son Tom Jacobs (Judy) of Franklin, IN, four grandchildren Lindsay Jacobs of Spencer, IN, Cory Jacobs of Bloomington, IN, Chad Smith of Franklin, IN and Nicole Smith of Southport, IN, a great-grandchild Avi Jacobs, a brother Jack Jacobs of Phoenix, AZ and a sister Jean Jacobs of Greenwood, IN.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents Winford and Alice (Fraker) Brunnemer.
</p>

Pastor Brian Clark will conduct a service on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 2:30PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed for family and friends to connect at <a href="http://www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/richard-jacobs">www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/richard-jacobs</a>.
