<p>Franklin College</p><p><strong>Softball opens with sweep</strong></p><p>The Angie Bain era got underway at Franklin College with a doubleheader sweep at Centre on Saturday afternoon. The Grizzlies won the opener, 5-1, before rolling to a 14-0 victory in the second game.</p><p>Alisha Burch struck out seven while getting the win in the pitching circle in the first game. Abby Hickson and Samantha Cain led the hit parade in the nightcap, both going 3 for 4 with four RBIs apiece, while Natalie Weber clubbed a three-run homer.</p><p><strong>Golf places second in Nashville</strong></p><p>Alan Showalter earned medalist honors with a round of 73 as Franklin College finished second at the season-opening Music City Shootout in Nashville, Tennessee. </p>
