Lenora Jean "Lenny" Steinfort

Lenora Jean "Lenny" (Keith) Steinfort of Indianapolis, IN, "One Great Lady," passed away March 14, 2021 and joined her heavenly father at the age of 94. Lenora was a Christian, baptized and believed in Jesus Christ.
</p>
<p>
She was born November 22, 1926, in Indianapolis, IN, to Leonard and Mary (Moran) Keith, she was the middle daughter. Lenora was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great- grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed for her beautiful smile, her positive outlook on life, and her unfailing support of her family.

<p>
She was a graduate of Shortridge High School in Indianapolis, IN. Lenora was a talented artist with many of her paintings hanging in her family’s homes, and had been an Avon representative. Her grandchildren could always count on her attendance at dance recitals and cheering them on at soccer matches. She was a camp fire leader and mental health advocate.
</p>
<p>
Lenny was an especially kind and loving person and she will be missed by all her family and those who knew her. She was close with her two sisters throughout life. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her friend and companion Gerald Glaze.
</p>
<p>
Lenora was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Harold E. "Gene" Steinfort whom she married on December 30, 1950 and preceded her in death on August 13, 1994, and also preceded in death by her son Keith Steinfort on December 24, 2015.
</p>
<p>
She is survived by her daughters Kyle Galster of Bargersville, IN and Gayle (Mike) Heintz of Greenwood, IN, grandchildren Damon (Monique) Galster, Lacey (Derek Pigecella) Heintz, Jarrett (Laura) Heintz and Dustin Galster (Amber Wyss), great-grandchildren Rylynn, Brayden, Ethan, Gabe, Bennett, Meredith, Hope Lenora and Nolan and many loving nieces and nephews and a friend to many.
</p>

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, sisters Dora Perkon and Joan Klee.
</p>
<p>
Pastor Jason Taylor will conduct a service on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at 6PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live streamed for family and friends to connect at <a href="http://www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/lenora-steinfort">www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/lenora-steinfort</a>. Please use Firefox Internet or Google Chrome for optimal viewing. Friends may call Wednesday, March 17, 2021, from 4PM until service time at the mortuary. Mask or facial coverings and social distancing is required for those attending. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 1:30 PM Eastern Time (12:30 PM Central Daylight Time) at Mounds Cemetery in Willow Hill, IL.
