James “Jim” Martin Ryker

James “Jim” Martin Ryker, 83, originally of Franklin, Indiana, passed away March 16, 2021 in Fishers, Indiana. He was born January 18, 1938 in Beech Grove to the late Paul and Hazel (Martin) Ryker.

Jim graduated Franklin High School in 1956. On October 28, 1961, he married the love of his life, Monita (Jenkins) Ryker and together they raised a beautiful daughter. For 33 years, Jim was part of the Computer Operations Department at Eli Lilly & Co., and retired in 1993. When Jim wasn’t working, he was playing sports. He especially loved basketball and baseball; playing until an injury caused him to stop, and coaching high school aged kids at his church. When he wasn’t playing sports, he was watching on his two televisions with the radio playing a third game. Jim loved his family dearly, and he will be greatly missed.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Monita; daughter, Kristina (Chuck) Franklin; grandchildren; Steven, Brandon and Kira Franklin; and sister, Pam (Ken) Galyan.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill and Bob.

His family will celebrate his life at a later date, as yet to be determined.
