BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif. — A baby bald eagle died while hatching in a Southern California nest that is widely watched through a webcam.
The eaglet died sometime on Friday, according to the Friends of Big Bear Valley, which operates the camera.
The parents were continuing to care for a second egg in the nest, the organization said.
The nest is located about 145 feet (44.2 meters) up a pine tree near Big Bear Lake in the San Bernardino Mountains.
