FORTVILLE
“Bob” Robert Orson Drake, 83, Fortville, passed away on March 13th, 2021. He was a lifelong resident of Fortville.
He was known personally and professionally in the automotive industry. He was an avid car enthusiast who designed and built custom cars as a hobby. He influenced car enthusiasts all over the United States. He had an incredible sense for custom designs and automotive parts.
He was a very kind and social person and no one was ever a stranger to him. Later in his life he enjoyed spending time with his family, sitting on the porch with his car buddies talking cars and attending the Wednesday night cruise-in’s on Main Street in Fortville.
Bob was preceded in death by, Brother, Jim Drake, Mother Virginia Mae (Raible) Drake and Father Orson Robert Drake.
Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years Sandra L. (Hendrick) Drake; his children Kevin (Areli) Drake of Greenfield and Tonya (Kent) Davis of Fortville; brothers Richard (Mary) Drake of Madison, Indiana, Gary (Jan) Drake of Austin, Texas and Mark Drake of Fortville; 3 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no services at this time. There will be a Celebration of Life held on May 22, 2021 at the Fortville Memorial Park Community Center at 400 W. Church St. from 12:00 to 4:00 pm.
