Locals earn All-State recognition
Four Johnson County players were among those named when the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association’s All-State teams were released on Wednesday.
Greenwood Christian’s Styles McCorkle and Whiteland’s Logan Willoughby were on the senior honorable mention list, while Edinburgh’s Caleb Dewey and Center Grove’s Tayven Jackson were underclass honorable mention selections.

Women’s soccer wins second straight
Franklin College earned a 3-0 victory at Bluffton on Wednesday. Katelyn Duff, Lilly Haines and Dianna Rollag each tallied a goal for the Grizzlies (3-2), who host Anderson this Saturday.
Men’s soccer ties Bluffton
Dany Escamilla found the back of the net in the second half, but Franklin College wound up settling for a 1-1 deadlock against Bluffton. The Grizzlies are 1-5-1 on the year.
Softball sets mark in split
After losing the front end of its doubleheader against Hanover, Franklin College exploded for a 26-8 win in the nightcap, tying a school record for runs scored in a game. Sydney Bostic drove in five runs for the Grizzlies (6-4), while both Shelby Crockett and Natalie Weber homered.
