Patty Jo Whitaker

<p>
Patty Jo (Stout) Whitaker, 88, of Whiteland, Indiana, passed away at her residence on Sunday, March 21, 2021.
</p>
<p>
Patty was born on March 9, 1933 in Dupont, Indiana to the late Alfred L. Stout &amp; Mabel A. (Addleman) Stout.
</p>
<p>
Patty married the love of her life, Ray Whitaker, on September 19, 1953 in Indianapolis, Indiana. They were married for 67 wonderful years.
</p>
<p>
Patty was employed at Eli Lilly and Company as a group leader in accounting from 1952 to 1965 and then worked as a reading tutor at Whiteland Elementary for 9 years. She later was active with the Whiteland Community High School Band as a band booster/parent from 1981 to 1985. Patty’s greatest joy in life was being a mother to her children. She treasured every moment she was able to share with her family. She will be dearly missed.

Patty is survived by her husband, Ray, of Whiteland, Indiana; her two sons, Alex Whitaker of Indianapolis, Indiana and Alan Whitaker of Whiteland, Indiana; her grandchild, Jessica L. Whitaker.
</p>
<p>
Patty was preceded in death by her grandson, Jacob A. Whitaker; her daughter-in-law, Paula Lowery; her parents, Alfred &amp; Mabel; her brother, Francis Stout; her sisters, Mildred Henry, Marjorie "Sally" Rolley, Irma Ehler, Marie Fox, and Winifred Ziegelbauer.
</p>
<p>
The family would like to give a special thank you to Main Street Hospice for their care and kindness.
</p>
<p>
A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 28, 2021 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm with a funeral service on Monday, March 29, 2021 at 1:00pm at Jessen Funeral Home ~ Whiteland Chapel. Patty will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, Indiana.

<p>
Per the Indiana State Governor, Eric Holcomb, and the Indiana State Department of Health’s mandate, social distancing regulations are required with guests maintaining a minimum of 6 feet apart from one another. Masks are mandatory and are to be worn at all times. No food is permitted at this time.
</p>
<p>
