James S. "Big Jim" Thomas

James S. "Big Jim" Thomas, 71 of McCordsville, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021 in Indianapolis. He was born February 22, 1950 in Anderson, IN to Jack L. and Helen B. (Blaydes) Thomas. Jim was a 1968 graduate of Fortville High School and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War era. He was a retired truck driver from the Teamsters Union and was a Horseman for the "World Famous Budweiser Clydesdales" at Anheuser Busch in St. Louis, Mo. He was a member of the Eden F&amp;AM Lodge and the FFA. He was the kindest, gentlest, sweetest man who loved animals, farming, and gardening.

Jim is survived by his sons, James R. Thomas, and Steven E. Thomas; granddaughter Melody A. Thomas; sister Barbara Anne Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents.
</p>

Private family services will be held in honor of Jim.
</p>
