Bernard Harvey Erney

GREENWOOD

Mr. Bernard Harvey Erney, Greenwood, passed away on the early evening of Monday, April 5, 2021. He was 88. Known as ‘Erney to his family and friends, he was born March 21, 1933 in Wooster, Ohio, the son of the late Harvey and Mary Jane (Buckek) Erney.

After graduation from high school and college, he was employed for over 20 years as a supervisor with Standard Foods warehouse. He also proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

In his leisure time, Erney enjoyed woodworking and made many miniature chairs. He also spent some time going to flea markets where he would sell his woodworking projects. Erney was an avid reader, collected elephants and looked forward to watching football on television, especially Indianapolis Colts games. He also enjoyed a good cone or cup of ice cream, loved potato chips and his favorites, Cheez-its.

Erney is survived by his wife, Melva A. (Williams) Erney; his children, Judy (Roman) Leal, David Little, Mike (Renea) Little and Rick Little; his grandchildren, Andy, Angie, David, Tammy, Lorin, James, Brandy, Sean, Nicole and Dawn; 19 great-grandchildren and one on the way as well as two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by a sister, Alice Gaunce.

A graveside committal service will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Monday, April 12, 2021 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of service Monday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood.

For those choosing to make a memorial contribution, the family has suggested those be offered to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
