John L. McAndrews , Jr. 95, of Whiteland, Indiana passed away April 11, 2021. He was born in Indianapolis to the late John and Edna McAndrews on July 1, 1925. On Jan 24, 1953 he wed Grace E. (Havens) McAndrews; Grace preceded John in death on February 8, 2005 after 52 years of marriage.

John was a graduated of Cathedral High School and attended Indiana University. He was a proud US Navy Veteran and was a member of the Greenwood American Legion. John was a longtime time member of Our Lady of Greenwood Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid fan Of the Indianapolis Colts and has had season tickets since they moved to Indianapolis. John will always be remembered as a loving father and grandfather.

John is survived by his sons James (Sandy) McAndrews, and Michael (Susanna) McAndrews; daughters Theresa Creekmore, Patricia Humphries, Carol (Herb) Harr, and Linda (Regan) Martin; brother Thomas McAndrews; daughter-in-law Rosel McAndrews; 12 Grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son John McAndrews; brother Bob McAndrews; sister Wanda Plahitko; and grandchildren William Martin and Allie Hayes.

Visitation will be held Friday April 16th from 10:00AM-12:30PM at Oriely Funeral Home 6107 S. East St. Indianapolis, IN 46227 with prayers at 12:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Greenwood Catholic at 1:00 PM on Friday . Entombment will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis.
