Indy man arrested on warrant for high-level drug charges

An Indianapolis man was transported to the Johnson County jail Wednesday to face high-level methamphetamine and heroin dealing charges as a result of a massive drug sweep in 2019 in the county.

Dustin Lee Liddle, 42, was transferred from the Marion County jail on two dealing methamphetamine charges — Level 3 and Level 4 felonies — and a charge of dealing heroin, also a Level 4 felony.

Liddle was initially arrested on the charges in October 2019 as part of the “Operation Hocus Pocus” roundup by local law enforcement agencies, in which 33 warrants were served for various drug dealing charges.

Officers gathered evidence of a drug deal by Liddle in May 2019, during which he sold more than eight grams of meth and two grams of heroin, according to a probable cause affidavit filed Oct. 8, 2019.

A Johnson County warrant was issued for Liddle’s arrest on Oct. 10, 2019. But he was already serving time at the Marion County jail on several other charges for drugs, possession of a handgun with a prior felony conviction and criminal mischief, according to online court records.

He is now being held at the Johnson County jail on $33,000 bond.
