GREENWOOD
Marcea Kay Youmans, beloved daughter of Frank R. (Bob) Youmans and Helen T. Youmans (deceased) went to be with the Lord on April 18, 2021 after a courageous, multiple-year battle with cancer. Marcea, a lifelong resident of Greenwood, Ind. was born in August 1952. She attended and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1970, where she enjoyed participating in the GHS Band program and business courses. At an early age, Marcea began working with her father at the family pharmacy, Youmans’ Greenwood Pharmacy, where she learned the value of helping others and being there for her friends in times of need. Marcea went on to attend Clark College Business School, which prepared her for a career as an Insurance Underwriter at the Indianapolis firm of Stone, Stafford, and Stone, where she met and made many life-long friends. Upon her retirement from the insurance industry, Marcea started a home maintenance and services business, where she enjoyed helping others, being outside on her mower, taking care of client’s lawns, and helping them with their pet-sitting needs. Always the animal lover, her client’s pets were in no better hands than with Marcea!
Marcea knew and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was a past member of The Greenwood Presbyterian Church, which she attended with her family while growing up.
Marcea will be forever loved and missed by a host of friends and family, including her three brothers and sisters-in-law: Frank R. (Bob) Youmans III, Lewisville, TX; James C. (Jim) Youmans (Linda), Raleigh, NC; and David L. (Dave) Youmans (Diane), Raleigh, NC. She is remembered as a vivacious, fun-loving, and doting Aunt/Great Aunt by her nephews, nieces, and great nieces, including Chip Youmans and his daughter Haley Youmans (Indianapolis, IN); Dr. Robert (Rob) and Nina Youmans, Esq. and their daughters Mary June and Margot Lynn Youmans (Zurich, Switzerland); Megan Youmans and Doug Royall and their daughter, Josephine Louisa Royall (Glen Ridge, NJ); Dr. Katherine (Youmans) and Andrew (Drew) Kidder and their daughters Victoria Youmans and Elizabeth Rossi Kidder (Chicago, IL); Dana Youmans (deceased); Drs. Devyn (Youmans) and Alex Fletcher (Indianapolis, IN); Dr. Danielle Youmans (Raleigh, NC); and Barri (Babs) Shirk, (Indianapolis, IN), Marcea’s life-long friend. The family will be forever indebted to Babs for her devotion to Marcea’s care over the last few years. Marcea is fondly remembered by the many co-workers, clients, customers, and friends she met, loved, and cared for during her life in Greenwood, as well as the friends at her “second home” at Lake James in Angola, IN.
As Marcea’s love of animals was so evident by her constant attention and devotion to not only her pets, but those of many others, we would ask that in lieu of flowers, a donation in her name be made to a no-kill animal shelter of your choosing.
To allow family members to gather and to ensure safety during the pandemic, the time of visitation and remembrance by her friends and family will be Friday, July 2 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel in Greenwood, IN. A private burial is planned for a later date.
