GREENWOOD, IN.
John Edward Zimmerman 86 of Greenwood, IN passed away Thursday April 22, 2021 at Aspen Trace Health and Living in Greenwood, IN.
He was born January 28, 1935 in Wickliffe, Crawford County, Indiana to Russell and Louisa (Limp) Zimmerman. He married Betty Ann (Murray) Zimmerman on February 29, 1959 in Indianapolis, IN, she preceded him in death on January 16, 2021.
He retired from Allison’s in Indianapolis, IN and also along with his wife and son Tony owned and operated Zimmerman’s Market on State Road 135 near Stones Crossing.
John was a United States Army Veteran and a member of Gracepoint Church in New Whiteland.
Survivors include his sister Marie Cook (Melvin) of Greenwood, IN and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty Ann (Murray) Zimmerman on January 16, 2021, his son Tony Zimmerman on February 17, 2005, a brother Wayne Zimmerman, sisters Geraldine Perry, Chrystal Mason and Pauline Cooper.
The Reverend Zach Scellato will conduct a service on Wednesday April 28, 2021 at 11AM at the Benjamin Franklin Chapel at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens 1977 South State Road 135 in Greenwood, IN with military honors conducted by the United States Army Honor Guard to follow.
Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN.
