Softball

Lancers throttle Braves

Edinburgh jumped out to a big early lead and kept on rolling to an 18-7 home win over Indian Creek on Monday. Catey Streeval homered and drove in six runs for the Lancers (6-7), who also got a home run from Gracie Crawhorn and three RBIs from Carly Cowan. Alli Gavin hit a three-run homer to lead the Braves (2-6).

Grizzly Cubs win big

Franklin scored 18 runs in the first two innings and finished with a 29-12 victory at Brown County. Thirteen different players drove in runs for the Grizzly Cubs (9-3), who were led by three hits each from Sara Small (four RBIs), Emily Fuqua (six runs scored, three RBIs) and Lexi Couch. Izzy Harrison added a home run in the win.

Baseball

Woodmen top Cougars

Greenwood broke a tie with three runs in the third and held on for a 7-4 win over Greenwood Christian on Monday. Dom Wright, Landen Smith and Chad Prentice each drove in a pair of runs for the Woodmen (2-6), with Prentice doubling twice.

Lancers fall short

Edinburgh lost to North Decatur, 16-2, despite a pair of runs batted in from Ian Buchanan.

Franklin 8U team wins tourney

The Franklin Youth Baseball 8U team won the USSSA Super Regional championship last weekend. Coached by Cole Zook, Franklin went unbeaten through the entire tournament, defeating Center Grove in the final game.

Girls tennis

Braves sweep Patriots

Indian Creek blanked visiting Owen Valley, 5-0, on Monday. Lauren Foster, Zoe Rayback and Lauren Lewis won their singles matches in straight sets, Emilee Scott and Olivia Perry were victorious at first doubles and Avery Burress and Addy Tunell coasted in the second spot.

Lancers pull out victory

Edinburgh picked up a 3-2 win over Rushville. Annelise Lollar and Bethany Burton took the first two singles points for the Lancers, while Alyssa Funkhouser and Peyton Bryant won in straight sets at No. 1 doubles.

Braves top Pioneers

Medalist Braxton Christie shot a 38 to help lead Indian Creek to a 177-185 win over Mooresville at Tameka Woods.

Lancers win handily

Max Blandford led all players with a 42 as Edinburgh cruised past Brown County, 194-242, at Timbergate.
