FRANKLIN
Deborah “Debbie” Carol (Young) Roy, 68, passed away May 11, 2021 at her residence in Franklin with her loving husband and son by her side.
Debbie was born on February 24, 1953 in Franklin, Indiana to James Young and Vonda (McClard) Young. She married Avert G. “A.G.” Roy, Jr. on August 26, 1972. She is survived by her husband of over 48 years, A.G.; son, Timothy J. Roy; mother, Vonda Young; and brother, Joseph Young. She was preceded in passing by her father, James Young in 2017; maternal grandparents, Eugene and Rose McClard; and paternal grandparents, Jim and Anna Mae Young.
Debbie was a 1972 graduate of Franklin Community High School. She worked as a nightly custodian for Needham Elementary for almost 14 years until she had to take a sick leave. Debbie fought a courageous battle with cancer since 2018.
She had a love for her Needham family and for Jesus. Debbie enjoyed making various crafts and spent much of her time visiting Hobby Lobby for her latest craft project.
Above all else, Debbie loved her family. She was a great wife, mother, daughter, and sister.
Debbie was known for her beautiful smile and will be missed by all who knew her.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin. Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
