GREENWOOD
Carolyn R. Lyell, 84, of Greenwood, passed away on May 13, 2021. She was born on July 3, 1936 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Alphonse L. and Delma M. (Werner) Wendling.
Carolyn had a contagious smile, and an exceptional ability to tell stories that turned many strangers into friends over the years. She was an avid golfer and devout Catholic. Over the last 40 years, she and Doug divided their time between Greenwood and New Smyrna Beach playing golf and entertaining friends. She will be greatly missed by friends and family.
Carolyn is survived by two nieces; and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas E. Lyell.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, IN.
Carolyn will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery.
