NEW WHITELAND, INDIANA
Ruth A. Alden, 85, of New Whiteland, Indiana entered into rest on Monday, March 30th, 2020 in New Whiteland, Indiana.
Ruth was born on Thursday, December 13, 1934 in Clinton, Indiana to the late William Payton and Ruth A. Alden.
Ruth was member of the Whiteland Church of Christ; she was a great Christian lady. Ruth cared about everyone she ever meet and never met a stranger. She loved reading, especially her Bible. She enjoyed spending time with her family and making others feel loved. A big part of her life was spent crocheting. She collected many things; to name a few: jewelry, glassware, and her amazing chicken collection.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rodger Alden, Sr., and her brother Harold Payton.
Ruth is survived by her children Rodger Alden, Jr. of Indianapolis, John Alden of Poland, Eugene (Sue) Alden of Bargersville, Paul Alden of Indianapolis, Terry (Paula) Alden of Florida, Priscilla (Tom Hinds) Alden of Indianapolis, Elizabeth (Eugene) Bibb of Greenwood, Jasmin Fordyce of New Whiteland, her brother Gary (Vanessa) Payton of Clinton; her sisters Betty (Bob) Killebrew of Clinton, and Emma Kelley of Terre Haute; 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the Whiteland Church of Christ at 625 W 600 North in Whiteland, followed by burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greenwood.
