Janice Lynn Ellis

FRANKLIN

Janice Lynn Ellis (Black), 63 of Franklin, passed away on May 18, 2021.

She was born on August 11, 1957 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Lorena (Vonderheide) and Charles Black. Janice married Dan Ellis on March 9, 1985. He lovingly survives. She is also survived by son, Andrew (Hailey) Ellis; grandsons, Patrick Joseph Ellis and Nicholas James Ellis; siblings, David “Dave” (Carol) Black, Shari Black, Susan “Susie” Reed, Michael “Mike” (Penny) Black and James “Jim” (Karen) Black and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in passing by her parents, Lorena and Charles; sister, Carol Chavez; mother and father-in-law, Robbie and Rudolph Ellis and sister-in-law, Lisa (Ellis) Parker.

Janice was a 1975 graduate of Whiteland High School and a 1979 graduate of University of Indianapolis.

Janice was a case worker for the State of Indiana for thirty-eight years and worked for Kroger for six years as a cashier.

She attended Good Shephard Lutheran Church. She enjoyed fishing and crafting. She loved her family and loved her dogs. She was a very good listener and was non-judgmental.

A celebration of Janice’s life will be held on Sunday, May 23 at 3:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) with visitation on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to time of service at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
