Woodmen advance to regional

In its debut season, Greenwood finished third at Saturday’s Bloomington North Sectional to advance its team to this weekend’s regional at the same site. The Woodmen (91 points) got individual wins from Mckenzie Spate in the 100-meter dash and Calveon Dulaney in the long jump.

Indian Creek finished sixth in the closely-bunched team standings with 85, and Franklin was eighth with 81.

Grizzly Cubs win Mid-State

Damon Dickey fired a 74 to lead all players as Franklin cruised to a 23-shot victory in the Mid-State Conference tournament at Foxcliff on Saturday. The Grizzly Cubs, who finished with a team total of 321, also got a 78 from Quin Edwards, 84 from Nate Blackwell and 85 from Ian McCullough. Jackson Watkins carded a 78 for Greenwood, which finished third at 362, and Will Davis led Whiteland with a 77.

Trojans claim two titles

Center Grove divided and conquered on Saturday, with its Red team taking first at the Franklin Central Invitational and the White squad earning a win at the Rock Hollow Invitational.

Luke Beetz led the Red with a 72, good for tournament medalist honors, followed by Sam Hord (77), Brandon Heffner (78) and Sam Slaughter (80). Mike Young and Nate Olson led the White with rounds of 74 and 75, respectively.
