William ‘Bill’ Mason Wheeler

FRANKLIN

William “Bill” Mason Wheeler, 86, of Franklin passed away on Saturday, May 22.

He was born on October 24, 1934 in Franklin, Indiana to Jerry Wheeler and Bessie (Berry) Wheeler. Bill married Doris M. (Kennedy) Wheeler in 1954. Bill and Doris were married for forty-eight years. She preceded him in passing in 2002. He is survived by children, Jerri Hodson of Franklin; Garry Wheeler of Franklin; Larry Wheeler (Carmen) of Franklin and Sherri O’Neill (Dave) of Franklin; grandchildren, Christina Wagner (David), Jamie Irwin, Austin Wheeler, Brad Wheeler, Tiffany Swopes (Warner), Katie Clark and Audrey Holmes; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Wheeler (Sharon) of Whiteland; brother-in-law, Ronald Kennedy (Linda) and sister-in-law, Sue Kennedy and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in passing by his parents; wife, Doris; sister, Kay Florence Wheeler; son-in-law, Neal Hodson and brother-in-law, Allen Kennedy.

Bill was a graduate of Franklin High school and Franklin College. He was a veteran of the United States Army

He was employed by Ford Motor Company, retiring after thirty years of dedicated service.

Bill was a lifetime member of Tabernacle Christian Church. He was also a member of the Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 107, F & A M and the Franklin American Legion Post No. 205.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin with visitation on Tuesday, May 25 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. A Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening, presented by the Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 107, F & A M. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin where military honors will be conducted by the United States Army and the Franklin American Legion Post No. 205.
