Edward “Ed” Michael Mitchell

FRANKLIN

Edward Micheal Mitchell, 72, passed away on Friday morning, May 28, 2021 at his residence in Franklin.

He was born on April 17, 1949 in Franklin to Earl James and Elizabeth Katheryn (Born) Mitchell. He married Doreen L. (Settles) Mitchell on May 9, 1970. She lovingly survives. Also surviving are three children, Wendy J. Mitchell, Tonya J. Williams (Jared), and Jerry E. Mitchell (Diana); four grandchildren, Elizabeth K. Mitchell (Andrew), Kirstin D. Mitchell, Joseph M. Moss, and Micheal E. Litherland; one great-granddaughter, Myah J. Boudia; aunt, Betty J. Girton and sister, Mary H. Mitchell. He was preceded in passing by his parents and brother, Frederick J. Mitchell.

Ed was a graduate of Franklin High School. Ed served as a Millwright Apprentice at the Ford Motor Company. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Ed was employed with Ford Motor Company as a supervisor for seventeen years, retiring as a Journeyman Millwright.

He was a fifty year member of the Franklin American Legion Post No. 205 and a member of the Franklin Elks Lodge No. 1818.

Father Steve Schaftlein will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, June 4 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 114 Lancelot Drive, Franklin, Indiana 46131. Friends may call on Thursday, June 3, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
