Sharon Marie Heeringa

INDIANAPOLIS

Sharon Marie Sleeth Heeringa, 76, of Indianapolis passed away on May 20, 2021. She was born January 4, 1945, on a farm in Whiteland, IN. Sweet, caring, best friend, loving wife of Edward “Pete” Heeringa for 54 years. Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Ward Sleeth, mother, Margie McClain Sleeth, and her sister, Patty Coy. Survivors include her children Mark Heeringa (Kelly) of Yakima, WA and Angie Kolman (Paul) of Zionsville, IN. She delighted in her 5 grandchildren Cassidy and Eli Heeringa and Ashley, Evan and Becca Kolman. Sharon found joy in life by spending time with her husband, seeing her grandchildren (especially when they played sports) and playing games and cards with her friends. Sharon was a member of Rocklane Christian Church where she sang in the choir, volunteered for VBS and attended Sunday School. She was a Kindergarten teacher at Rocklane before Kindergarten was taught in the public schools. She was a Secretary for Perry Township Schools and a 4-H leader for over 20 years. Sharon was a lifetime member of the Indiana Congress of Parents and Teachers, Inc. Sharon was Salutatorian of her High School Class of 1963 at Whiteland High School. She played the saxophone in the High School Band and the Johnson County Youth Band. Friends and Family may call June 2, 2021, from 11am-2pm at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, 481 W. Main St, Greenwood, IN. Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery.
