Rickey D. Moats

WHITELAND, INDIANA

Rickey Moats, 75, resident of Whiteland, Indiana passed away at home on May 30, 2021.

Rickey was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 27, 1945 to parents Opia Omar and Buena Vista (Arbaugh) Moats.

Rickey proudly served in the United States Army and later worked as an assembly worker at General Electric before retiring in 2005. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He loved his role as a grandfather and never turned down the chance to make a memory with his grandchildren. Along with creating memories with his loved ones, he enjoyed fishing and golfing in his spare time.

Rickey is survived by his two sons, Rick and Jason Moats, both of Greenwood, Indiana; his three grandsons, Anthony, Evan and Elijah Adams all of Terre Haute, Indiana; his sister, Phyllis Craven, of MaComb, Michigan; his former daughter in law, Angie Adams and several nieces and nephews.

Rickey is preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret (Peggy) Moats; his parents and his two siblings; Don and Ronnie Moats.

A memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 6:00 P.M. at Jessen Funeral Home ~ Whiteland Chapel with visitation from 4:00 P.M. until the service hour.

If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Per Jessen Funeral Home, social distancing regulations are recommended with guests maintaining a minimum of 6 feet apart from one another. Masks are required when requested by the family. No food is permitted at this time.
