FRANKLIN
Anna M. Buker, 58, of Franklin, IN, passed away on June 13, 2021 after a long, courageous battle with Breast Cancer.
She was born August 22, 1962 in Bronx, New York to Luca and Catherine M. (Cento) LaMonaca. She married Christopher W. Buker on August 10, 1985 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Indianapolis, IN, he survives.
Anna attended Holy Name Catholic School in Beech Grove and graduated in 1980 from Scecina Memorial High School in Indianapolis. She received her degree in social work from IUPUI.
Anna started working for Shares Inc. in 1987 and dedicated the last 34 years of her life to helping adults and children with disabilities. Her knowledge in her field was unmatched and many looked to her as a mentor.
Anna loved being a mother to her three children, but especially loved being a Mamaw to her nine grandchildren. She was funny, smart, compassionate and kind. She had the most giving heart and would always find a way to help those in need.
Survivors include her husband Christopher W. Buker of Franklin, IN; children Jennifer Pfifer (John) of Franklin, IN, Christopher Buker (Brittney) of Franklin, IN and Jessica Kufner (Mark) of Greenwood, IN; nine grandchildren Jonathon Pfifer, Joshua Pfifer, Jaxon Pfifer, Chloe Buker, Maddox Buker, Bryleigh Buker, Luca Kufner, Marin Kufner and Maeve Kufner; her mother Catherine M. (Cento) LaMonaca of Indianapolis, IN; sister Cammy Ward (Paul) of Greenwood, IN, brothers Peter LaMonaca of Indianapolis, IN and Anthony “Warren” LaMonaca of Greenwood, IN.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Fr. Steven Schaftlein will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 1:30 P.M. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church 114 Lancelot Drive in Franklin, IN. Friends may call Thursday, June 17, 2021 from 10AM until 1PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN.
