Floyd and Carolyn Tilson

WHITELAND

Floyd and Carolyn Tilson, 88 and 80 respectively, passed away together in their Whiteland home during the early morning of June 18. Floyd was born May 27, 1933 in Rocklane, Indiana to the late Homer and Lena Tilson. Carolyn was born February 22, 1941 in Greenwood, Indiana to the late Everett and Dorothy Parkhurst.

Floyd and Carolyn shared 58 years of their lives together. From the time they met and blended their families, they were nearly inseparable. Floyd was a long haul truck driver and member of the Teamsters, Local 135 for 47 years. Carolyn was a homemaker and took care of the family while Floyd was away. Floyd was an Army veteran, having seen action in the Korean War, and was a proud member of the American Legion and VFW. The kids remember good times vacationing in Florida and camping, fishing and water skiing. Floyd and Carolyn loved each other and their family deeply. They will be missed by so many.

Floyd and Carolyn are survived by their children, Jeff Tilson, Trela Long, Keith Jones, Christi Tilson, and Michael Tilson; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Carolyn is also survived by her sister, Loretta.

In addition to their parents, they were preceded in death by Floyd’s ten siblings, three siblings of Carolyn’s; one grandchild; and one great grandchild.

Family will receive friends Saturday, July 10 from 10:00am – 12:00pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN 46143, with memorial service to follow at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Greenwood American Legion Post 252, 334 S U.S Hwy 31, Greenwood, IN 46142.
