Kim Jayette DeBaun

Kim Jayette DeBaun, 63, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday morning, July 6th, 2021 at her residence in Greenwood.

She was born on March 27, 1958 in Franklin, Indiana to James Adams and Shirley (Hardin) Adams Scott. She married Duane DeBaun on November 26, 1980. He lovingly survives. Kim is also survived by three daughters, Laura DeBaun-Haag (Tim); Erin Sprague (Tom) and Joy Stewart (Joe); three grandchildren, River, Matilda and Lucille. Also surviving are her siblings, Vicki Harmon (Ted) and Jon Adams (Diane); step-father, Ray Scott; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in passing by her parents.

Kim was a graduate of Whiteland Community High School and Indiana State University.

She was a middle and high school Math teacher for three years, before running an in-home daycare for over thirty-five years.

Kim enjoyed walking, doing any kind of puzzles, gardening, music (she played the clarinet) and spending time with family especially the grandkids. She also enjoyed the annual family trips to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Matt Roller will conduct a celebration of Kim’s life on Friday, July 9th at 7:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, July 9th from 4:00 p.m. to time of service at the funeral home.
