Journal’s street party returns this summer

Franklin Fest will return this year for a block party-style jubilee of all that makes summers in Johnson County special.

The annual street party is set for Friday on the courthouse square in downtown Franklin. The party was rescheduled and then canceled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Sponsored by the Daily Journal and the Franklin Parks and Recreation Department, the festival will feature local food trucks, beer and wine, and music by The Woomblies, an Indianapolis-based rock orchestra.

Come to East Court and Monroe streets at 6 p.m. The band will take the stage at 7 p.m. Bring your kids and lawn chairs. Admission is free.
