Raymond “Marty” Williams, age 77, of Franklin, IN passed away unexpectedly on July 14th, 2021, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis, IN. Raymond “Marty” Williams was born January 29th, 1944 in Indianapolis, IN. He was a 1962 graduate of Southport High School and after graduation went straight to work at Detroit Diesel Allison/Rolls Royce, where after 39 years he retired.

Marty married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Christoph; after living in Perry Township for 30 years, the pair moved to Franklin and for the next 22 years Marty was actively involved with his church, Franklin Heritage, Discover Downtown Franklin, and Madison Street Salvage. His favorite hobbies were going to the Indy 500, working on his hot rod, watching and playing tennis; as well as completing projects around the house and popping large amounts of popcorn. Above all, Marty was a family man, he loved spending as much time as he could with his family; especially his only granddaughter Kaitlyn, he gladly chauffeured her to every horse-riding lesson and shows. The family would take yearly trips to Disney World, and he would travel with Carolyn and his brother-in-law Chuck to civil war reenactments.

Marty is survived by his wife, Carolyn, daughter Stacey (Michael) Ogden of Franklin, granddaughter Kaitlyn and her fiancé Rene of Greenwood. He is proceeded in death by his parents Ray and Ruth Williams, brothers Jim and Bernie.

The visitation and service of Holy Communion will be held Saturday July 24th, 2021, at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 2601 East Thompson Road Indianapolis, IN 46227. The visitation will be from 1pm-4pm followed by the service of Holy Communion starting at 4pm. The family is asking that masks be worn while inside the church. A celebration of life will be held at 2pm on Sunday July 25th, 2021, in the Fellowship Hall at Hopewell Presbyterian Church, 548 West 100 North Franklin, IN 46131.
