Police arrested a Greenwood man Friday after they say he assaulted two people in front of a 2-year-old child.

Dewan Singh Dhanoa, 29, was arrested on charges of domestic battery. The prosecutor’s office will decide what, if any, charges to file.

When police arrived on scene shortly after 4 a.m., they found Dhanoa heavily intoxicated, according to a Greenwood Police Department report.

A victim told police Dhanoa had entered her bedroom where she and a child were sleeping and began yelling at her. Dhanoa then physically assaulted her, according to the report.

Another person stepped in to try to help, and Dhanoa then assaulted that person. Both assaults happened in front of the child, the report said.

Dhanoa told police he was physically attacked and never touched anyone, but would not provide any additional information, according to the report.

He was given a preliminary breathalyzer test and had a BrAC of .197, more than two-times the legal limit, the report said.

Dhanoa was taken to the Johnson County jail where he is held without bond.
