Chris Allen Ware

Chris Allen Ware was welcomed into Heaven by his Lord and Savior on July 30, 2021. His loving family was by his side. Chris was born in Indianapolis on May 28, 1947 and raised by his parents Tom and Evelyn (Powers) Ware. He married Feb. 18, 1966 his childhood sweetheart, Patsy Day. They were married for 55 years and sweethearts for 61 years.

Chris was a manufacturing manager at multiple facilities on the southside of Indianapolis having started his career at age 18. He received on Dec. 14, 1996 his Associates Degree from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Chris was a man of faith who loved the Lord and dearly loved his family. He loved spending time with his family enjoying a conversation, time on the deck, a family meal, and special celebrations. He was very proud of his grandsons Evan, Ethan, and Bobby. He enjoyed attending their sporting events and cheering them on. He was adored by his daughters Sonya & Christa that cherished his wisdom, guidance, and special lunch dates.

He had a servant’s heart serving the Lord as a Deacon, teaching Sunday school, and ministering to the sick and elderly. His character was evident by his life-long friendships since childhood.

Chris was an avid reader, history buff, golfer, and loved music and dancing with his wife, Patsy.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy; daughters, Sonya Ware-Meguiar (Rob), Christa Smiley (Phil); grandchildren, Evan & Ethan Smiley, and Bobby Meguiar; brother, Tom Ware; sister-in-law, Sandy Ware; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Chris was predeceased in death by his brothers Gary and Tim Ware; and sister-in-law, Sandi Ware.

He will always be remembered as we look forward to the day in which we will all be reunited in the name of Jesus Christ.

Friends may visit from 12:30 PM until the service time at 2:30 PM Saturday, August 7, 2021 at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, 1605 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN 46142. He will be laid to rest at The Gardens at Olive Branch.

Memorial contributions are suggested in memory of Chris to the American Cancer Society – Lung Cancer Donations.
