Kenneth E. Hoffmann, Sr.

INDIANAPOLIS

Kenneth E. Hoffmann, 95, of Indianapolis, passed away on August 3, 2021. He was born on June 1, 1926 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Carl H. and Edith (Taylor) Hoffmann.

Kenneth served in the U.S. Army field artillery in Europe during WWII. He was employed by Eli Lilly for 40 years, where he retired as a Planning Systems Associate.

Kenny was a former member of the American Production and Inventory Control Society, member of the Marion County Sheriff’s Reserve Division for 10 years, a life member of the National Rifle Association, and a member of Center United Methodist Church.

Kenny told his family in recent years he had a good life largely because he had a terrific wife in Ruth. He believed her to be a wise woman who’s advice he learned to heed during their 60+ years of marriage. She offered support in his interests and, in most cases, joined in and actively participated.

Kenneth is survived by his daughter in law, Melissa Hoffmann; granddaughters, Katie (Jeremy) and Kristen Hoffmann, and great-grandson and “little buddy”, Em.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (Bixler) Hoffmann; son, Kenneth Hoffmann, Jr.; and daughter, Kathy Hoffmann.

Services will be held privately with arrangements entrusted to G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens of Olive Branch, Greenwood, IN.

Kenneth will be laid to rest in Round Hill Cemetery with his beloved wife and children.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the IU Cancer Center for Gastric Cancer Research.
