David Eugene Neathery

GREENWOOD

David Eugene Neathery, age 80, of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away Sunday morning, peacefully at home surrounded by family. Born September 11, 1941, in Taylorville, Illinois to Garold and Margaret Neathery, David is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Brenda, former wife Lois (Jack) Bowman, sisters Sharon Koksal and Marilyn Greenwell, eldest daughter Erin, sons David (Lynn) and Matthew (Lisa), daughter Adrienne (David) Innis, stepdaughter April Griffith, as well as 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

David was known for his sharp mind, keen business acumen, and strong leadership as he built his career first with Star Service, then over 40 years as an independent Amoco dealer. Outside of work, his innate charm, wry humor, and love of his family eventually led him to find Brenda, with whom he found peace, joy, and many adventures along the way. They enjoyed golfing, travel, and being the foundation for their widespread family. David was private about helping others, which he did happily and generously throughout his lifetime. He found his greatest peace several years ago, after accepting a relationship with Our Lord, Jesus Christ. He loved learning and growing as a believer and his greatest wish was to ensure he would see all his loved ones with him in Heaven. Dearest David, we will all be along in a little while.

Family and friends will gather for a Memorial Visitation on Thursday, October 14, 2021, from 12pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 3pm, at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, 481 W. Main St. Greenwood, IN 46142.

In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed by The Michael J. Fox Foundation, P.O. Box 5014 Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014 or The American Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, P.O. Box 61420 Staten Island, NY 10306.

The family would like to thank Brighton Hospice for their compassionate care for David and his family.
