Hubler Automotive Group has signed on to be the premier facility partner of the Greenwood Fieldhouse for the next decade, city officials announced Wednesday.

Hubler, a Greenwood-based car dealership, will contribute financially to the facility each year to further support and grow recreational opportunities at the $9 million fieldhouse and throughout the city, according to a news release.

Plans for the fieldhouse on the former Greenwood Middle School property include an elevated indoor running and walking track, batting cages, two multi-purpose turf fields, which can be used for sports like soccer or lacrosse, two gymnasiums for basketball or volleyball courts, several indoor pickleball courts and a golf simulator. It was planned to be completed by the end of the year.

The city announced its partnership plans in February.

The plan was to have every section of the fieldhouse branded with partners, from the turf fields to the golf simulator, as sponsorships help lower the costs of maintenance, programs, memberships and day passes, city officials said.

The 10-year partnership comes with a $50,000 price tag. Hubler will get banners, logo impressions and other signage throughout the fieldhouse, and is included in radio ads for the facility. Additional perks include two free buyouts for the company, allowing it to rent any amenity for up to four hours, 100 day passes and 20% off memberships, city officials said in February.

Other smaller partner spots range in price from $900 to $12,000 for one to five years.

Potential partners are reviewed by the parks department, mayor’s office and park board.

“The Parks and Recreation Department has done an outstanding job on this project, which will harmoniously blend the old with the new, exemplifying Greenwood as the city of pride and progress,” Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers said in the news release. “I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the team at Hubler Automotive Group for their commitment.”

Hubler’s contributions will flow through the Greenwood Parks Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting, preserving and enhancing the city’s parks, green spaces and recreational programs.

“Hubler’s decision to invest in our parks and recreation opportunities for our community will directly benefit all Greenwood residents and will help us to continue providing diverse, authentic amenities and opportunities for all ages. We greatly look forward to the decade ahead,” foundation president Krista Taggart said in the news release.

The agreement with Hubler is the parks’ largest public-private partnership to date, according to the news release.
