Greenwood Fire hosting popup testing, vaccine clinic

The Greenwood Fire Department and Indiana Department of Health are holding a popup COVID-19 vaccine and testing clinic from noon to 8 p.m. today and Saturday.

The popup clinic is located in the gravel parking lot across the street from the fire department’s headquarters, 155 E. Main Street, and no appointment is necessary.

Appointments are available for those who want to avoid the line. For a test, register at scheduling.coronavirus.in.gov. For a vaccine, register at vaccine.coronavirus.in.gov.

PCR and rapid tests, and Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson vaccines are all available at no cost through the clinic. Insurance is not required, but those who have insurance will be asked to submit their information.

Testing is available those ages two and older, or for those ages six months and older with parental assistance.

Vaccines are available for those ages 12 and older. Parents must accompany any child 15 or younger who wants a vaccine, but written or verbal permission is acceptable for 16 and 17 year olds.

Patients with an appointment at a state-hosted public vaccination site can also get a free UBER ride. Call 2-1-1 or 866-211-9966 to receive a voucher to cover the cost of an Uber ride to and from your vaccination appointments. Transportation is also available to any vaccine appointment via IU Health. Call 888-IUHEALTH and choose option 9 for assistance.
