Kenneth Warren Wilkerson

Kenneth Warren Wilkerson (Kenny), 74, passed away on Sunday September 12, 2021 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born at the same hospital on February 26, 1947. He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. Cleo and Mrs. Frankie Mae (Fultz) Wilkerson, and his brother Dennis Charles Wilkerson. He graduated from Northwest High School.

He married Eileen O’Connor on May 22, 1970. They celebrated their 51st anniversary this year in a special event at Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Indianapolis. He considered his greatest accomplishment in life to be his three sons. He was a quiet, humble man with two primary goals in life, to be a good husband and father and everything else was secondary.

He is survived by his loving wife, their three sons Kempis Alan Wilkerson (Tina) of Mooresville, IN., Jonathon Del Wilkerson of Jacksonville, FL., and Cody Warren Wilkerson (Megan) of Franklin, IN., 13 grandchildren, Guerin, Kempis, Orion, and Ruby Wilkerson of Mooresville, IN., Emily, Jack, and Isabelle Wilkerson of Jacksonville, FL., Lucas Wilkerson of California, Hannah and Elijah Nix, Reece , Amelia (Mia), and Piper Wilkerson of Franklin, IN. and one great grandson Liam Warren Wilkerson of California. He is also survived by his sisters, Gloria Jean (Wilkerson) Forrester, and Joyce Marie (Wilkerson) Pettigrew of Indianapolis, IN., many brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kenny was a proud Navy veteran, who served three Vietnam tours. He worked at National Starch and Chemical Co., (now Ingredion), in Indianapolis for 33 years, retiring in 2005. He was employed by the Clark Pleasant Community School Corp. in Whiteland, IN. for 15 years as a school bus driver, then a bus aide. He was a former member of Our Lady of the Greenwood parish.

There will be a Celebration of Life on September 25, 2021 at Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church located at 5901 Olive Branch Rd., Greenwood, IN. 46143, beginning with Visitation at 11:00 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at noon, then Inurnment in the Resurrection Garden at the church with military honors.
