GREENWOOD
Harold “Glen” Upchurch, 81, of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Glen was born on June 2, 1940 in Monticello, Kentucky to the late Cleo and Ruby (Ramsey) Upchurch.
Glen married the love of his life, Anita (Adkins) Upchurch, on September 18, 1965; they were married for fifty-six wonderful years.
Glen proudly served in the United States Army National Guard from 1958 to 1965 and later worked as an area manager for Chrysler Corporation until his retirement. He had a strong, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and faithfully attended Emmanuel Church, in Greenwood. Glen was a faithful member of the Greenwood Masonic Lodge 514 and enjoyed membership with Winding River Men’s Senior Golf League. Glen was a huge University of Kentucky Fan and enjoyed traveling and exploring.
Glen is survived by his wife, Anita Upchurch; his two children, Rhonda Upchurch and David (Malinda) Upchurch; his grandchildren, Tyler Upchurch, Hannah Upchurch, Sean (Emily) Wamsley, Brooke (Ryan) McCrory, Ridge Wamsley, Lauren Wamsley, Braedon Upchurch, and Jonah Upchurch; his great-granddaughter, Emma Upchurch; his three siblings, Juanita Gehring, Gale Upchurch, and Lynn Upchurch; and his sister-in-law, Jo Alley.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo and Ruby Upchurch; one brother, Gene Upchurch; and two grandsons, Gavin Upchurch and Jared Wamsley.
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Jessen Funeral Home ~ Whiteland Chapel followed by a funeral service on Tuesday, October 5th at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be performed at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 4th, at the funeral home. Glen will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Joy’s House at UIndy, in memory of Glen Upchurch; their address is, 1615 E.
