A local nonprofit this weekend will collect donations of baby items for Afghan refugees being temporarily housed at Camp Atterbury.
UpLift Johnson County, a local service organization that specializes in filling needs in the community, will host a donation event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at Copenhaver Custom Homes, 1418 Fry Road, Greenwood.
Diapers, diaper rash cream and baby wipes are among the items needed for refugees. Donations and checks will be accepted, and every cent will go toward purchasing items for refugees, according to UpLift.
