A Texas-based company plans to hire about 100 people to work at Camp Atterbury, where thousands of Afghan refugees are being temporarily housed.

AIM World Services will host in-person job fairs this week, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, Thursday and Friday, at the Hilton Garden Inn, 12210 N. Executive Drive, Edinburgh. For consideration of an immediate position, applicants should bring a resume and two forms of government-issued identification. Applicants must undergo background checks and drug screens, according to a news release from the company.

The company is looking to hire janitors, cooks, food service workers and dishwashers to work at the National Guard base in southern Johnson County. Pay ranges from $1,000 a week to more than $3,500 a week, depending on the number of hours worked and the position, the news release said.

The company says it is looking for people who are willing to work long hours, as they are expecting employees to work 10 to 12 hour shifts six days a week for up to six months.

President Joe Biden’s executive order requires all contractors working on-site at a federal facility to be fully vaccinated. AIM will require new hires to have their first vaccination prior to starting work and their second vaccination within the timeframe recommended by the vaccine manufacturer, according to the news release.
