Group hosting food drive all month long

Pride and Progress, Inc., a local nonprofit that promotes and advocates for access, equity and justice in Johnson County, is sponsoring a food drive all month to Fright Away Food Insecurity to benefit Michelle’s Little Free Pantry.

They are accepting unexpired non-perishable food items and new hygiene products at 11 locations throughout the county:

  • Franklin Animal Clinic, 2990 N. Morton St., Franklin
  • Whit’s Inn, 1020 US Hwy 31, Whiteland
  • The Willard, 99 N. Main St., Franklin
  • Hoosier Brewing Company, 147 S. Madison Ave., Greenwood
  • Center for Diversity and Inclusion, 101 Branigan Blvd, Franklin (Napolitan Student Center 2nd floor)
  • Starbucks: 5943 S. East Street, Indianapolis; 1011 N. State Road 135, Greenwood; 88175 S. Hwy US31, Indianapolis
  • Home Drop sites: 985 Cambridge Lane, Edinburgh; 849 Fieldstone Dr., Franklin; 661 Yorktown Road, Greenwood.

A Zoombie House Party at 6 p.m. Oct. 31 on Zoom is free and open to everyone. The event will be family-friendly, including a costume contest, trivia, prizes and more. All proceeds from the event will go to Michelle’s Little Free Pantry, Inc., a local food pantry in Franklin and Greenwood that is focused on food equity and food insecurity needs in the community.
