GREENWOOD
Conrad Franklin Swails, age 93, of Greenwood, passed away Friday, September 17, 2021. Born on November 9, 1927 in Beech Grove to the late Ora F. and Cora (McClain) Swails, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Conrad attended Butler University and Indiana Business College. He was a member of the Beech Grove Masonic Lodge NO. 694 F & AM and the Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite. Conrad worked for 40 years at Midwest Fire & Safety Equipment, retiring at age 61. He enjoyed painting, woodworking, golf and playing pool with his buddies. Conrad enjoyed music and played the organ.
He will be loved and missed by his wife of 71 years, Harriet; two children, Stephen (Marsha) Swails and Janet (Kurt) Dittman; grandchildren, Stephanie Fenton (Christopher) and Angela Wock (Brandon), Jeff Patrick (Stacey), Jake Patrick (Kari), Josh Patrick (Lisa); great grandsons, Kevin Fenton, Douglas Fenton, Owen Patrick and great granddaughters, Ellie Rose Wock, Avery Patrick, Ellie Patrick, Eva Patrick.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Elma Burns, and Manuel Swails.
Private services will be held at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch. Conrad will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
