Mark Andrew Chew

INDIANAPOLIS

Mark Andrew Chew, 56, was called home Monday August 30th to be with his Lord. Mark, a Christian, was born in Lafayette, Indiana and grew up in the small town of Sheridan. He graduated in 1984 from Heritage Christian School in Indianapolis’ northeast side.

Mark worked at his family’s grocery stores in Sheridan and Noblesville. After graduation Mark went to work at Marsh Supermarkets in Carmel. He also worked at Eagle-Trident Security for several years. Mark returned to retail by delivering a wide assortment of convenience foods and working part-time, then full-time at Hamptons Grocery Store in Greenwood and Boggstown, a job that he truly loved and would say it wasn’t like working. He enjoyed working with other employees at the store, it was an excellent environment for Mark.

Mark’s loves were his family, working on his cars, and he was an avid history fan. He was looking forward to season 4 of Yellowstone.

Mark is survived by his mother Barbara Chew, siblings Julie Millikan (Kenny) Karen Strong (Randy), Doug Chew, Kristin McBride (David) and Twin Brother Michael Chew. Nieces and Nephews Andrew Strong (Cassie), Taylor McBride, Matt Millikan, David Chew, Ashley Robbins (Andy).

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles M Chew and infant brother, John Chew.

Friends and family may call on Friday, September 24, 2021 from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 2:30 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46250.

In keeping with Mark’s casual nature, those attending Mark’s service may dress in comfortable attire.
