Myra Chambers

GREENWOOD

Myra Joan Chambers, 84, has left her family and friends in this world to be with her Holy Father in Heaven. She passed away on September 17, 2021 peacefully at home in Greenwood, Indiana.

She was born on April 18, 1937 in Harlan, Kentucky.

Myra is survived by her husband Forrest Chambers along with 3 children, Douglas (Kelly) Chambers, David (Marsha) Chambers and Debbi (Kevin) Crawford. Myra also leaves behind 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Myra was preceded in death by her parents, James and Nora (Shackelford) Jackson and a sister, Frances Rector.

Myra retired from EDS Data Systems where she worked as a Computer Security Analyst. She was a member of Tri Kappa Sorority. She was a founding member of the GracePoint Church in Whiteland, previously attending Emmanuel Church of Greenwood for over 20 years.

Myra was an avid quilter who made quilts for all of her children and grandchildren along with many other friends and relatives.

Myra was a Cub Scout Den Mother who always taught her scouts the Scout Motto “Be Prepared” for everything they do in life. Myra loved traveling around the country and meeting new people and never met a stranger.

Services for Myra will be held at G.H. Herrmann Funeral, 1605 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN 46143 on Thursday September 23, 2021 with visitation from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm and service to be held at 1:00 pm with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery Ben Franklin Mausoleum.
