Eunice Helene Strietelmeier

GREENWOOD

Mrs. Eunice Helene Strietelmeier, Greenwood, passed away on the early afternoon of Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Franciscan Health – Mooresville. She was 94. Eunice was born August 26, 1927 in Beech Grove, Indiana, a daughter of the late Mitchell Charles and Emma Louise (Rodert) Bosma.

Eunice attended Beech Grove High School and was a member and Valedictorian of the graduating Class of 1945. She had lived in the Southport area since 1955, where she and her husband reared their family. She had been employed with Macmillan Publishing as the office manager and retired in 1989 after 26 years of service.

Eunice was a 66-year member of Calvary Lutheran Church where she participated in the choir and the Willing Workers (LWML). She also participated in the Bible study group at Greenwood Village South, where she had resided in recent years.

Eunice spent her leisure time working crossword puzzles and following her favorite sports teams, Indiana University basketball, the Indianapolis Colts and the Cincinnati Reds. An avid card player, she also enjoyed a good game of both Euchre and Pinochle.

Eunice deeply loved her family and particularly her grandchildren and always supported them in their sporting and musical activities. She also looked forward to hosting family dinners which she always prepared to perfection. For many years, she enjoyed vacationing and making memories with her family at St. Pete Beach, Florida.

Eunice is survived by her children, Karen (Max) Oyler and Dave (Janice) Strietelmeier; her grandchildren, Kristin (Darren) Petty, Trisha (Zac) Gilbertson, Michael (Chrissy) Oyler and Lauren (Patrick) Cook; her great-grandchildren, Zeke Petty, Mitch Gilbertson, Cecelia Gilbertson, Murphy Elizabeth Cook, Miles Marie Cook, Lane Catherine Cook and Axel Oyler.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her husband of 53 years, Donald P. Strietelmeier as well as her siblings, Charles Bosma, Harold Bosma and Mary Louise Angrick.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 pm, Friday, November 5, 2021 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 6111 Shelby Street, Indianapolis with Pastor Keith Ebert officiating. The Rite of Christian Burial will follow at Concordia Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 am until the hour of service Friday at the church.
