Trojans get first victory

Center Grove used a big fourth quarter to break into the win column with a 38-33 home win over Warren Central on Thursday. Savanna Bischoff had 11 points and Rachel Wirts 10 for the Trojans (1-3, 1-0 MIC), who outscored the Warriors 18-9 in the final period to complete their comeback. Emily Karr and Ella Hobson contributed seven points apiece.

Royals fall in season opener

Roncalli got its season started with a 50-34 loss against Pike. Sydney Horton had 13 points to lead the Royals, while Jordan Hendricks was close behind with 12.

More local seniors sign college letters

Greenwood held signing ceremonies for three seniors who will continue playing sports at the collegiate level next year. Jackson Watkins will play men’s golf at the University of Indianapolis, Anna Pritchett is set to play softball at Marian and Melia Gorrell will play volleyball at Wheeling University in West Virginia.

At Franklin, Morgan Carter signed to play softball at Hanover College.
