State extends IMS clinic through December

Hoosiers wanting to get vaccinated against COVID-19 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway now have more time to do so.

The Indiana Department of Health said Wednesday it has extended its COVID-19 vaccination clinic at IMS to December, and added more appointment slots to make sure those who received a first dose at the site can receive a second dose there as well. COVID-19 testing will also be offered, according to a news release.

The clinic will offer the two-dose Pfizer-BioNTech adult and pediatric vaccines, as well as the two-dose Moderna and single-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccines, the news release says.

Those wanting to get vaccinated or tested can visit the track from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays from now until Nov. 20. The next window will be from Nov. 3 to Dec. 11., and will be available at the same times, according to the news release.

The final December window will be Dec. 14-22. Vaccines and testing will be available from noon to 8 p.m. Dec. 14-17; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 18-19; and noon to 8 p.m. Dec. 20-22, the news release says.

COVID-19 vaccines are available to Hoosiers ages 5 and older, and booster shots are available to eligible Hoosiers ages 18 and older. Only the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is available for those under 18.
