Here’s the latest on I-69 construction in the county

Bluffdale Road is expected to close permanently to through traffic this week at State Road 37 near Angel Animal Hospital and McCarty Mulch and Stone, according to an Indiana Department of Transportation news release.

The intersection will be right in and right out only as frontage road construction continues. Traffic that would normally cross State Road 37 or turn left can access Bluffdale Drive or Bluff Road from the north at Fairview Road, according to the news release.

Olive Branch Road/County Road 800 N is now closed permanently at State Road 37. Watch for crews repaving local roads in the area this week, including Old State Road 37, Huggin Hollow Road and Jay Dee Lane, the news release said.

Temporary paving has begun along the south side of State Road 144 near State Road 37. Crews are preparing for Interstate 69 interchange construction once traffic is no longer using State Road 144 as a detour, INDOT says.

Across the county line in Indianapolis, large cranes safely completed concrete beam installation last week for Keystone Avenue over Interstate 465 and the future I-69 southbound lanes over Wicker Road, according to the news release.

State Road 37 signal work at Southport Road and Banta Road will require nighttime lane closures and 20-minute traffic stoppages this week between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., the news release said.

Weekly street sweeping and debris cleanup has been scheduled each Thursday afternoon from 3 to 11 p.m. Drivers should watch for trucks closing the shoulders along State Road 37 and the I-465 southwest leg between I-65 and I-70, INDOT says.
